Political Endorsement Packet
Updated On: Apr 26, 2018

Policy Guidelines set forth by the
King County Police Officer’s Guild Political Action Committee

The King County Police Officer’s Guild participates in the political process through its Political Action Committee. However, due to the fact that the King County Police Officer’s Guild is not a large institution and has limited resources, it cannot direct enough time or money to all political candidates and causes it may wish too. Therefore, to better serve our membership and the causes and/or candidates we wish to become involved with; the P.A.C. has adopted a few policies we feel best serve our membership.

Currently, the P.A.C. is not accepting endorsement packets from individuals seeking political office at the Federal or State level of government and we are no longer making endorsement in judicial races. The King County Police Officers Guild is a member of the Council of Metropolitan Police and Sheriff’s. Individuals or organizations seeking an endorsement for State Legislative races should contact COMPAS (www.compas-wa.org). Certain exceptions may be made for candidates running for Governor and State Attorney General.

The P.A.C. committee will accept requests for endorsements from individuals seeking office within King County government or incorporated cities that contract with the King County Sheriff’s Office. The 2018 KCPOG Political Candidate Forms provides specific details pertaining to KCPOG's endorsement policies and timelines, the typical endorsement process takes six to eight weeks. (The King County Police Officers Guild is not responsible for contacting candidates.)

All endorsement packets should be completed and returned to the King County Police Officer’s Guild. Please email them to dana@kcpog.com or mail to PO Box 80665, Seattle, WA 98108
